The story of the original Thai Namman Muay® oil

The origins of Namman Muay® products date back to traditional Thai herbal medicine, where for years the exact recipe was used by a select few and was passed down only by word of mouth in various boxing circles. It was only in 1960, thanks to the reign of Pon Kingpetch, Thailand's first Western-style boxing champion, that Devakam's miraculous product transformed into a famous brand known worldwide.

Kingpetch trained at a gym owned by a coach named Thongthos Intratat. An herbalist and practitioner of alternative medicine, Intratat was always looking for new solutions, based on traditional Thai home remedies, to help his team of fighters warm up and rehabilitate sore muscles and joints after training and (also) frequent fights.

Intratat discovered that a fighter massaged with his particular Namman Muay oil was less prone to injuries and physical exhaustion after fights. In honor of Pone Kingpetch, Thontos Intratat, and their historical achievements, a statue was erected in Hua Hin, southern Thailand.
